What this tool does

This generator preconfigures South Africa conventions: the ZAR currency, the VAT label, DD/MM/YYYY dates and A4 paper size. You enter your details and line items; it calculates subtotal, discounts, tax and the grand total, then renders a print-ready PDF entirely in your browser.

Currency: ZAR (R)

Amounts use en-ZA grouping and decimal rules and are rounded to 2 decimal places, as used by ZAR.

Tax terminology: VAT

Invoices are labelled with the terminology South Africa businesses expect. Presets are provided as a starting point and are not tax advice.

South African prices normally include VAT at 15%, shown separately on the invoice.

Invoice numbering

Default numbering pattern: INV-2026-0042. A full tax invoice is required for VAT claims above ZAR 5,000.

Payment practice

Common payment terms used in South Africa: Due on receipt, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days. Always state a due date, and ask customers to quote the invoice number as the payment reference.

What a South Africa invoice usually includes
